H.R. College has the distinction of introducing the Bachelor of Management Studies for the first time in the college and also in the University of Mumbai.

Due to its immense popularity and standard teaching abilities, the college has reached the maximum student strength permitted by the University - 2440 in the Senior College and 1739 in the Junior College.

Besides taking care of the all-round development of the student bodies the college also pays attention to the upgradation of its staff and faculty and conducts regular programs and seminars for the teachers to learn from the rapidly changing methodology.

The college has been accredited with an 'A' Grade by NAAC.

The University Grants Commission (UGC) recommended H. R. College, for being an autonomous institution. H. R. became the first college in the University of Mumbai to achieve this feat.

H. R. has got many clubs and associations within itself, which cater to the hobbies, activities and interests of all the students. Some of the most popular students clubs are: Students' Council, CHOICE, Rotaract Club, Sports Council, NSS, Planning Forum, Investment Club, Accountancy Association, GEMS.

The college regularly conducts various events and activities for the over-all development of the students.

The college also circulates an internal magazine called the 'Voyager', which is managed by the students, and staffs combined.
